How to Grill the Perfect Steak

How to Grill the Perfect Steak

If there is one thing that people have been trying to do for ages, it is to grill the perfect steak. There are actually several steps that are needed in order for this to take place, and it certainly is going to take some practice. Here are a few things to keep in mind that will make you the grill master and have you turning out perfect steaks, time after time.

The first thing that you need to decide is the type of grill that you're going to use. If you do not yet have a grill, the difference between charcoal and gas may be less than what you thought. Most people were unable to tell a difference in the taste of meat whenever it is cooked on one or the other, so I would err on the side of convenience and use a gas grill.

The heat of the grill is very important, as you would want to make sure that it was hot enough to sear the steak yet not so hot that you would burn it. Cook the steak covered and watch for flareups from time to time. As the side of the state begins to turn gray, flip it and recover the grill. Continue to watch for flareups and wait until the entire side of the steak is gray.

With the steak done to your liking, it is now time to allow it to rest for 5 to 10 minutes. Loosely cover it at room temperature to allow the juices to flow back into the steak and make it perfect. Although there will be some variances in the way that this is done, these are the basic steps that will be needed to grill the perfect steak.
