How to Grill the Perfect Steak
If there is one thing that people have been trying to do for ages, it is to grill the perfect steak. There are actually several steps that are needed in order for this to take place, and it certainly is going to take some practice. Here are a few things to keep in mind that will make you the grill master and have you turning out perfect steaks, time after time.
The first thing that you need to decide is the type of grill that you're going to use. If you do not yet have a grill, the difference between charcoal and gas may be less than what you thought. Most people were unable to tell a difference in the taste of meat whenever it is cooked on one or the other, so I would err on the side of convenience and use a gas grill.
The heat of the grill is very important, as you would want to make sure that it was hot enough to sear the steak yet not so hot that you would burn it. Cook the steak covered and watch for flareups from time to time. As the side of the state begins to turn gray, flip it and recover the grill. Continue to watch for flareups and wait until the entire side of the steak is gray.
With the steak done to your liking, it is now time to allow it to rest for 5 to 10 minutes. Loosely cover it at room temperature to allow the juices to flow back into the steak and make it perfect. Although there will be some variances in the way that this is done, these are the basic steps that will be needed to grill the perfect steak.

Portable Gas Barbecues - Some things to consider prior to buying.
Now that it's almost summer time, it's a great time to have a look at what portable gas barbecues are out there. Everyone enjoys a barbecue and with a portable one, you can take it just about anywhere. A beach, the park or how about a tailgate party at the ballpark.
Before you buy though, you'll want to consider what features you consider most important. Portable gas barbecues are available to buy in lots of various sizes and shapes but your first consideration will be the weight of the bbq. Portable barbecues have wide ranges in weight, so if you think you'll be taking it around with you a lot, you'll absolutely want to get one of the lighter kinds. If your new bar-b-q weighs thirty or forty pounds, you can't seriously consider it all that portable.
While you are considering the many portable gas barbecues available, you will no doubt notice that the majority are given a BTU rating. This rating, referred to as British Thermal Units, of gas barbeques is a measurement of the heat that is produced by the burners. Essentially, it is the amount of heat needed to increase the temperature of one lb of water by 1 degree Fahrenheit. The greater the BTU the higher the heat output! You'll want to look for the highest BTU rating within your budget. The bbq will heat up quickly and maintain its heat for a lengthier period.
The cooking area is yet another important aspect. You will need to consider how much food you'll want to be able to prepare at any one particular time. If you have a big family that you will have to cook for, the larger the cooking area your Barbecue will need to have. The kinds of cooking surface on the barbecue grill is likewise a major consideration. Although, the substantial majority of them will, you will want to make sure all of the surfaces are nonstick.
Another consideration will be how big is the gas container you will need to carry around with you. They are offered in many different sizes, from tiny 1 pound bottles to the bigger 25 pound tanks. If you decide to use the smaller containers, always purchase two or three. It will be extremely disappointing to run out of propane in the middle of barbecuing your supper.
You may want to consider just what add-ons either are available with the bbq or are available to buy separately. Some portable gas barbecues include condiment trays or pot stands as well as other accessories like brushes, scrapers and cooking tools.
